What we collect and why

1. Searching for tyres

When you search by registration, both the registration and the postcode go to identify the tyre sizes your car needs and the centres near your postcode. Our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, performs that lookup from its own vehicle and centre data; this site does not keep the search against your name, and it survives only in routine server logs. Searching by tyre size carries nothing about you, not even a postcode.

2. The centre finder

The finder that orders centres by distance uses postcodes.io, a public postcode service, to turn your postcode into coordinates, so that the nearest of the centres around Birmingham can be shown first. The postcode you enter is not stored by this site, and nothing links it to you.

3. Maps and weather

The map on each centre page is made of OpenStreetMap tiles, fetched by your browser from openstreetmap.org, so your IP address reaches OpenStreetMap, just as it reaches any site you visit. Weather for Birmingham is fetched by this site's own server from the Met Office, with MET Norway as a fallback, for Birmingham as a whole; nothing about you is sent to either.

4. Cookies and logs

There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies on TyresBirmingham.uk, and nothing on it tracks you, on any page. Hosting is by Vercel, which holds routine server logs, IP address, browser type and pages requested, briefly so the site stays secure and up, never to identify you.

5. When you buy

At the point you press buy, you leave this site and our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, completes the order. Name, address, card details, car and fitting slot go to Tyres.co.uk and are processed there under its own privacy policy; that policy explains what is done with the information and how to use your rights over it.

6. Reviews

All the reviews published here are written by verified buyers and passed on by Tyres.co.uk, with the author's name cut to a first name and an initial. Reviews are never collected here, and there is no form for it; the writers are not contactable through this site.

7. Your rights and contact

By UK data protection law you can see the personal data held about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to how it is used. Given how little this site keeps, the data in question is usually an order, and that sits with Tyres.co.uk; whatever it concerns, send it through the contact page. This policy may be updated from time to time; the version published here is the one in force, so check back if it matters to you.
